The Living City

The Living City presents Carlsberg Byen's history, development, and future plans. It reflects on how our cities should be founded on community, comfort, and poetry. It zooms in on the transformation of Carlsberg Byen into a vibrant & mixed city district.

Carlsberg Byen is a perfect place to explore and learn about urban planning, while enjoying a thought provoking exhibition, curated by design studio BRIQ, in the former industial building Mineralvandsfabrikken from the 1920's. The exhibition in Mineralvandsfabrikken will act as the meeting point for the district and pay homage to Copenhagen as “The World Capital for Architecture for 2023.”

Under the name “The Living City”, the exhibition presents the district's history, development, and future plans. It reflects on how our cities should be founded on community, comfort, and poetry. It zooms in on the transformation of Carlsberg Byen into a vibrant and mixed city district, through spatial installations, exhibitions, and overall program. There will be a spacious relaxation area, and of course a bar that represents the historic brewery grounds on which the exhibition is located.

To complement the exhibition, there will also be curated talks by renowned architects, designers and thought leaders. There will also be events where one can do yoga and play bingo!
