Opening of Karens Minde Aksen

Come get a tour of the newly constructed, green area called Karens Minde Aksen located in Sydhavnen. Experience a coherent urban space incorporated with numerous solutions purposed to handle water during cloudbursts.

Karens Minde Aksen is a key project in realizing Copenhagen Municipality's Cloudburst Management Plan regarding the future management of large amounts of rainwater during cloudbursts to prevent local floodings.

The project is developed closely with the local community in Sydhavnen as well as in a collaborative process with the advisory team and HOFOR. Together we have created a recreational cloudburst management project that preserve and strengthens existing local traits and qualities linked to the area Karens Minde, and furthermore created better conditions supporting cultural life and social activities.
